  I had to go to boarding school in Groton, Mass, and while the education was great, the weather was HELL!!!
  
  For me, Groton House of Pizza (GroHo, as called by locals) was my refuge and comfort food, particularly when I was homesick - an escape that made me feel warm again
  
  I'm specifically reviewing GroHo for inclusion on my list "The Best Pizzas Of the World" because this pizza is terrific - it is FULL OF GREASE, but that's the charming touch of it, as the grease consists of some of the best roma and olive oil to be found, all heated at high temperatures with excellent cheese and bread, making for a pizza symphony!

  I stopped in to the Groton House of Pizza today 4/24/19. It was about 4 pm. I have been by this place a million times , but never have eaten here. I walk in and a young confused girl is making a few subs. I order and she says 5 minutes. I think ok no worries I'm hungry.
  A customer walks in and says I ordered 3 subs. She just finished making his last sub. She says an amount , he pays, she hands him his change. Then she closes the cash register and grabs a sub roll, and says to me ok that was a small ? I'm like wash your flipping hands or put some gloves on before you touch my food!
  I was so grossed out I walked away and called the board of health. Disgusting disgusting disgusting.
  To the owner- you are going to get someone really sick. You should be educated on the proper way to prep and handle food. You should educate your employees.
    That fan exhaust or ac unit, that is at the left of your counter needs a cleaning!
  I could just imagine the condition of that back room where the food is being prepped!
  Do you people at the Groton House of Pizza wash your hands after you use the restroom?
  Because you don't wash them after touching money

  It's like they don't care anymore. Pizza is mediocre at best, and subs are disgusting. Dry stale bread, and a small hard piece of cheese if you ask for cheese on your sub. Won't be back.

  The gyros here are the best I've ever found. The manager recognizes me now and is always very friendly. It's definitely my favorite restaurant!

  This is the only pizza place I know that makes a pizza where the cheese is crispier than the crust. How is that even possible? The crust is soggy, floppy, roughly the consistency of the bottom of an apple pie. The cheese layer is the same as those crunchy, dried out melted cheese disks that get stuck to the cookie sheet when you make nachos.
  
  The only saving grace was that they somehow managed to not screw up the French fries.
